Google Page Speed… don’t get complacent!

Your website isn’t finished.

A website is NEVER finished.

Its performance will change over time. Just because it scored 90+ on Google Page Speed Insights when it launched, doesn’t mean it’ll score that now.

Two of the biggest changes in website performance we see are when new images or new plugins are added to the website.

Uploading new images to the site, that are not compressed or sized properly, will slow down your website. But to avoid this, there’s an array of tools out there to help you resize and compress images.

As a general rule of thumb, the smaller the better without compromising on quality.

And before you activate that shiny new plugin or app on your website, see how it impacts site performance. Some plugins can be resource-heavy and slow down your website.

You can test your website with a tool like GT Metrix or Google Page Speed Insights to see how long each image and page element takes to load, or how resource-heavy your plugins are.
