Responsive web design is the process of designing a website layout so it ‘responds’ to the screen size it’s being viewed on.

Whether you’re using a smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer, a responsive website will display and function correctly on all of them.

Why do I need this? Come on, you’re better than that. Ok maybe not, so here goes… what percentage of the UK population do you think use a smartphone to access the internet? 20%? 30%? No, 61%. At the end of 2014 there were 23.6 million mobile users with a 4G connection in the UK meaning your audience are not only using smartphones, they’re a demanding bunch too.

Recent user tests have shown that the current generation of mobile internet users are more demanding than any other website visitor so if your website isn’t responsive then you could be losing a huge amount of visitors, enquiries or sales. Having a site that isn’t responsive is almost as bad as not having a website at all.
