Tim gets on track

Technique Web’s very own Valentino Rossi and Online Manager Tim, got to blast his way around Cadwell Park this weekend in the final round of the British Supermoto Championship. In an eventful weekend Tim was moved up from his usual category to the Michelin Cup so was tested against faster riders right from the off.

‘I did a round earlier in the year at Three Sisters in Wigan for the first time and managed a top 5 so coming to Cadwell, I was aiming for a podium as I know the track well. The race director remembered my pace at Three Sisters so moved me up to the Michelin Cup. Part of me was gutted but the other part was flattered that he thought I was too fast for the category I’d entered originally.’

Qualifying 21st out of 33 for race 1, Tim got a steady start and then picked off the rider in front of him to claim 20th place at the finish. Races 2 and 3 weren’t so good, having bike trouble on the grid meaning starting both races plum last.

‘I just got my head down and tried to ride the best lap times I could. I actually really enjoyed it because the pressure was off.’

Tim hopes to do the ‘odd round’ next season but with a new arrival imminent and a house move on the cards, we think he’s being a tad optimistic.
